10 Actually Free Things to Do in Singapore

Singapore is not a cheap city, but some of its best public spaces do not require an admission ticket. The list below focuses on places with free access confirmed by their official operators. Paid add-ons may exist at the same venue.

1. Supertree Grove and Garden Rhapsody

Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay has free admission. Garden Rhapsody is also listed as free and runs daily at 7.45pm and 8.45pm, except when operations are affected by ticketed events or other changes.

2. Gardens by the Bay Outdoor Gardens

The Outdoor Gardens include Serene Garden, Heritage Gardens, World of Plants and the Dragonfly and Kingfisher Lakes. Most are open daily from 5am to 2am.

3. Sentosa Sensoryscape

Sensoryscape is a free 350-metre garden trail. It is open 24 hours, while the complimentary ImagiNite light experience runs from 7.30pm to 9.15pm daily, subject to weather or maintenance.

4. Singapore Botanic Gardens

The main Singapore Botanic Gardens is free to enter every day. The gardens are open from 5am to midnight. The National Orchid Garden is a separate paid attraction.

5. Haw Par Villa park

Haw Par Villa's official FAQ lists free outdoor park admission, but the attraction is currently under a partial-closure notice for maintenance. Hell's Museum remains open and is separately ticketed, so check the latest access notice before going specifically for the free outdoor areas.

6. Marina Barrage Green Roof

The public areas at Marina Barrage and the Green Roof are open 24 hours, making it an easy place for a skyline view, picnic or evening walk.

7. Jewel Rain Vortex

The Rain Vortex at Jewel Changi Airport can be viewed without an attraction ticket. Jewel lists daily waterfall operating hours of 10am to 10pm and evening light-and-music shows.

8. Fort Canning Park

Fort Canning Park is open 24 hours. The hill combines public gardens, heritage structures and free-to-view outdoor historical features.

9. The Southern Ridges

The Southern Ridges connect Mount Faber Park, Telok Blangah Hill Park, HortPark and Kent Ridge Park over roughly 10km of green open spaces.

10. Bay East Garden

Bay East Garden is part of Gardens by the Bay and is listed as open 24 hours. It is useful for a quieter waterfront walk with views back toward the Marina Bay skyline.
